“I am very frustrated and disappointed by my experience here. I was hopeful about getting help for my daughter and truly believed we had found a good fit with her therapist. Unfortunately, after only three appointments, we are now dealing with a serious and upsetting billing situation. I received a text message stating that $723 was owed and that all of my daughter’s appointments were canceled effective immediately, with the option to reschedule only after the balance was paid. I was stunned, not only by the amount being charged, but by the decision to cancel care for a child who has been in crisis. When I asked about the self-pay rate, I was told it is $150–$180 per session. Despite this, we are being charged $255–$263 per session. When I questioned the discrepancy, I was told it was due to insurance and their “contract” with the insurance provider. I still cannot understand or accept being charged significantly more because we have insurance. The lack of transparency around billing and the abrupt cancellation of appointments was incredibly distressing. This experience has been deeply disappointing and has significantly undermined the trust I initially had in this practice. Families seeking mental health support, especially for children, deserve clearer communication and more compassionate handling of situations like this.”
