“Just do not go here!!! If you have a child who you suspect has autism (level 1), do not go here. They will slap every and any label on to see if it sticks except the actual diagnosis of autism because my child can make eye contact and is social. Such a disgrace to struggling kids and their parents. Dr. Barker said my child is not "odd" enough to be autistic even though he meets all the criteria. And that it's the parents fault for all his struggles. The most non-neuropositive experience and quite offensive. Absolutely repulsive. She was literally googling different diagnoses during our results meeting. She had 2 weeks to give us a thorough diagnosis instead of making one up on the spot and provided very little data to back up her claims- other than "not odd enough". Never trust a place where the actual doctor is not present during the different evaluations/ tests. She saw my son for 1 brief hour and then some inexperienced people performed the tests. They are not trained on nuanced autism and have no idea what masking is. Their license should be taken considering how they just blatantly misdiagnose. I wonder how many other families have received bad info from these people. And, it has been a major waste of time (6 months on a waiting list, plus weeks waiting to get testing, plus weeks waiting for results). Huge waste of time and money. Edit: since I can't reply to the owners message, we have already been in contact with an autism clinic in slc. They agree it is autism and is unprofessional to label him with oppositional defiant disorder or a mood disorder, or even slide it off as social anxiety. This is actually my families 3rd time going through the assessmemt process with this business and it was as degrading as the other first 2 times (Dr.Swift and Dr. Evans who misdiagnosed my autistic daughter with anxiety/ocd. Luckily we got a second opinion for her as well). I do not wish to contact your psychologists further. Maybe they are trying their best but they are clearly not trained in identifying level 1 high functioning autism.”
“NBCG cannot keep children staffed because they have a rotating door of employees leaving due to poor management. My grandkid is constantly having to get used to new staff because employees don’t stay there for long and that is not beneficial to my grandkids learning. I had multiple scheduling issues with NBCG showing little respect of my families schedule. The admin team is incredibly disorganized and difficult to work with, especially Jacob Cardinal. The way he communicates is passive aggressive and outright disrespectful. According to NBCG’s website, Jacob’s previous experience is working at a law firm in New York City. I’m not sure how that qualifies him to work in the mental health field when his communication is lacking and clearly has no experience with autism. I would advise against sending your child to NBCG.”
“I’ve been working with Alaina since September of last year. I’ve gone through so many dark seasons in my life and have tried working with therapists many times, but I always hit a wall when it came to opening up and talking about my past. I got to a point with Alaina where I was pushing appointments out by a month and honestly thought I had this whole healing thing figured out. Then, about a month ago, I was triggered into a really hard episode out of nowhere and I cannot tell you how much it meant to have built such a trusting relationship with her that I could fully take the mask off and be truly seen through the hardest grief I’ve experienced yet. Navigating a breakdown is so much easier when you’re with someone you genuinely trust. Being able to ask “am I doing okay?” and know I’ll get an honest, caring answer means more to me than I can put into words and knowing I can keep going because of that support means everything. I am so grateful I found her. I highly recommend Alaina to anyone who has struggled to open up in the past or feels like healing just hasn’t worked for them. She is the real deal.”
“My daughter had an appointment and she enjoyed her visit. The staff member was very professional and kind. Even others arriving to their appointment the staff was respectful of others. Great location that’s clean and smells lovely.”
