How likely are you to recommend Serenity Mental Health Centers - Holladay?
What patients say on Google
“RUN!! I found Serenity Health online and scheduled an appointment to get help managing my ADHD. Unfortunately, I arrived slightly late to my appointment and was refused service. The front desk staff rescheduled me, so I assumed everything was handled professionally. Not long after, I received a $150 “no-show” fee in the mail. I called their call center to ask why I was charged, and the experience only got worse. The representatives sounded extremely scripted, robotic, and unhelpful. It took three separate phone calls before I finally got an explanation. I was told they reviewed security footage and determined I arrived past their 10-minute grace period, so the $150 charge would stand. They REALLY take this fee serious, I had to laugh out loud when she old me they reviewed video footage. In my opinion, this office seems far more focused on collecting fees than helping patients (its how they seem to be making their money). I really wish I had read the reviews before scheduling here. I would not recommend Serenity Health, and I will not be returning. I’ve also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you’ve had a similar experience, I encourage you to do the same.”
“I have been a patient with this clinic for nearly two years spanning two different providers and locations, and the experience has been entirely positive. For the sake of fairness, I was unaware of the numerous negative reviews, and upon reading them, they seem similar enough and in high enough volume to be taken seriously by a potential patient — but this has not been my experience whatsoever. The patient service from the front desk attendants has been unimpeachable, the providers have been attentive, responsive, and most importantly, have allowed me to bring ideas to the table and participate in my own mental healthcare plan, which is not something I can say for most of my previous experiences. I have a background in pharmacy and make it a priority to come to appointments well-read and prepared, and it is such a relief to be treated by providers that seem to really respect that. My most cautious and narrow endorsement, with respect to the patients that have submitted negative reviews, is that my personal experience with Bryce Gosney at the Layton clinic and Benjamin Harmon at the Holladay clinic has been seamless, professional, and unilaterally beneficial to my overall mental health. Do your research, as choosing your mental health provider is an incredibly important decision, but I feel rather comfortable giving Serenity five star marks.”
“I was referred here by my doctor as I was at my wits end with my mental health. Like truly, completely just… not okay. And as someone with a background in mental health I should be someone who gladly accepted this referral but I felt quite defeated and hopeless that I had gotten to the point where I needed more “intensive” help. But I called, figuring I had nothing to lose. I don’t remember who I spoke to over the phone for the initial assessment/registration, but he was honestly one of the coolest most personable person and he made me feel so heard and cared for. And not in a sympathetic “oh that sucks for you” but rather I felt like he was down in the trenches with me, making sure I knew that he was in my corner and was about to embark on a journey with people who were going to be right there with me and stop at nothing to get me the help I needed. He miraculously got me seen that day with Dr. Anthony Peterson who truly is one of the greatest doctors I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a loooot of doctors. And I’ve met many psychiatrists (though he was the first I ever personally worked with) and I feel like I’ve often been belittled or just seen as some sort of “idiot” who doesn’t know anything so there’s hardly any conversation about the “why” or “how” things work, especially with medicine. And I think also in this field it can be easy to just go through the motions, gather data, throw out treatment and medication options and call it a day, but not Dr. Peterson. He took the time to listen, ask questions, and most importantly (or at least something I felt was very important and beneficial) is he took the time to explain basic brain health in a way that was informative and and helpful in understanding why I feel the way I feel. Just this alone was so beneficial and healing because I was able to then view my current situation with a new lens; this wasn’t a problem with my character, it’s just a problem with my brain. He then explained several treatment aspects which can improve and treat the symptoms I was having in a way where not only did it make sense, but for the first time in my life, I was left with this hope that perhaps the struggles I have carried for so long might actually be relieved, and that this wouldn’t be a “life sentence” after all. We changed some medication (which is still ongoing” and I underwent and completed my ketamine infusion treatments here and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff at this location. From the staff at the front desk, to the nurses and techs who carried me through that journey, everyone seemed like they TRULY and deeply cared. And to the nurse who sat with me as I was uncontrollably sobbing for what I believe was an hour after a rather emotionally intense infusion, and then to Dr. Peterson who I’m sure had other things to do but decided to come in and just check in on me and chat and process things with me, thank you. Thank you for being everything I needed in that moment. And thank you to everyone else who expressed care, concern, support and encouragement during this process and for those who shared your personal experiences because you gave me hope when things felt pretty darn bleak. While I’m still in the middle of this journey, (I’m doing TMS treatments at the Layton location) I just have to say that this Holladay location is a place of healing and true “serenity”, and I hope whoever comes here can experience the same hope and healing I have.”
“The staff at Serenity’s Holladay location were compassionate, respectful, and did the best they could to support me. I felt that the people providing my care genuinely listened and tried to help. My frustrations are primarily with Serenity as a larger organization, particularly its centralized administrative communication and the difficulty getting clear answers about records and leave-related requests. Those problems should not be attributed to the Holladay staff, who handled their part of my care professionally and with empathy. Although I did not experience the degree of improvement I had hoped for after three months of treatment, I appreciate the effort and kindness shown by the Holladay team. My rating reflects their care specifically, not my broader concerns about Serenity’s administrative system.”
